Plot[]
Celia is introduced at the Kids' Favorites Awards when she volunteers to pose with Jake Taylor at the photo op. It is implied that she won "Favorite New Actress of the Year" due to her being present at the photo op.
After they pose, she flirts with Jake but is interrupted by her mother, who disproves of Celia dating a teenager, who then starts hitting on Jake herself.
Horrified, Jake flees and never sees Celia again the novel.
The photos of Jake and Celia together create jealousy in Sophie Metcalf, and brings her to the conclusion that Jake mustn't really like her and reverts back to her plan of exposing him for the lazy slacker he is.
