Kate is a character in Leslea Wahl's The Perfect Blindside.
Personality[]
Kate is a lot more welcoming to Jake Taylor when he moves to Silver Springs than Sophie Metcalf and always tries to give Jake the benefit of the doubt when he was rude, and is against Sophie's idea of exposing him as a lazy slacker.
While Kate is intrigued by Jake's stardom, she is not self-absorbed and cruel like Mallory Shepherd and is respected by Jake in that regard.
She is also very supportive and tries to make Sophie feel better when she is down.
Plot[]
Kate's main role is to encourage Sophie to do the right thing and serve as a character foil to Mallory (along with Sophie). She also pushes Sophie to be more friendly and warm to Jake and encourages their relationship. In addition, Kate takes Sophie to one of Chad's concerts in the guise as a story for the Yearbook, but in reality her and Chad have a relationship.
